Memories of Summer so far....

Hi again!  It's been forever since I updated.  I got a myspace, so I've mostly been using that. (www.myspace.com/cest_la_vie74)  Go get one and be my friend! :)

Anyway, summer is flying by!  I've done so many awesome things in the past month!

My missions trip was awesome!  It was very hot down there, and we worked hard, but it was so much fun!  We did programs for kids down there, and also demolished a lady's house.  Her house had been flooded with 3 feet of water, so everything had to be taken out of it.  It was fun getting to totally wreck someone's house and not get in trouble for it. lol  It was great knowing we made a difference in her life, as well as her family, and all the kids who came to the programs.
I made a lot of new friends and got to know other people better.  There were only 12 students on the trip, instead of almost 30 like last year, so it made it easier to get to know everyone really well.  We had some crazy times... --random dance parties, in the airplane, in our room, everywhere! lol --ultimate frisbee & soccer --songs like the Cha Cha Slide, Ice Ice Baby, and Life is a Highway --"why aren't the lights off??" haha --the Bubblator!!! --"God loves you but the world doesn't." --Amber and I doing the worm in the middle of the airport --JOEL! --our ghetto names --High School Musical  --our matching shirts --Alicia and I laughing SO hard in the airplane, cuz "my feet don't touch the ground" haha..... and a ton of other memories.  It was awesome... yea-yuh MS'06!!  I can't wait for our reunion!

Another awesome thing I did was....  GET MY LICENSE!    Yessssss, freedom!  It is so fun to just get away and drive by myself, no one saying "slow down!" lol
Also, on Tuesday my sister dyed my hair red!  It was SO bright at first, but now it's cool.  It's definitely a huge change, but a good one. :)

Right now, I'm sitting at home on a nice summer day with a cold!  Every year it's the same thing... halfway through the summer, I get sick.  At least I could sleep last night; Saturday and Sunday nights I could not sleep at all.  It was so frustrating... but I got smart and took nyquil last night. So that knocked me out.. haha  But I hope I get better soon.  Being sick in the summer really stinks. :P

Ok guess that was long enough for you. lol
Have a great one! <3 Amilicious

On the eve of a great adventure...

[From a letter I sent out today.]

"Tomorrow I will be leaving for a mission trip to Pass Christian, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisiana.  I'm going with my youth group for a week, and I'm so excited!

After Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, our church supported a church in Pass Christian, Mississippi.  We'll be staying at the same church, and helping them with anything they need.  Mostly we'll be doing rebuilding/construction in some of the devastated areas, and having carnivals for the kids.

This is an awesome opportunity, and I'm really glad that I'm able to go.  Please pray for me and the rest of the team this week... for safety traveling and during construction, that we would have good weather, that our team would bond and get along well, and that God would touch many lives as we minister to people."

Wow... I'm so excited!!!  It'll be awesome to just travel and see a different part of the country (the farthest south I've been before is VA.), and to help the Katrina victims.  I can't imagine losing everything like they did... I'm sure it'll be a really touching trip.  I'm definitely going to take lots of pictures; maybe I'll post some when I get back.  Like I said above, please pray for me this week!  I know it'll be amazing.

Au revoir!  Avec l'amour,
Ames

P.S. Janelle, I just got done making your crown.  So be ready!

C'est la vie...

June is one crazy, fun month.  I have been SO busy lately... I haven't had time for much updating at all.  So here's a run-down of the stuff I've been doing lately. :)

I've been working a lot.  Currently, I'm on the grill again... still starting at 6.  (At least by now I'm kinda getting used to waking up at 5 am)  Who knows when that could change, though.  Seems like lately where ever they need help, they move me to that job.  And everyone's leaving!  (I'll miss you Rachel!   We definitely need to hang out more! )

I've been doing random stuff with my family... like frisbee and badminton with my brothers, going to the movies to see Over the Hedge, and stuff like that.

I've been reading a lot.  I think in the past week, I've read about a book a day.  Yeah, I can be a book nerd. haha  I recently finished the whole Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.  Which were really good, by the way. lol

I've been hangin' out more with friends... on Wednesday night I went to Rachel's house with Josiah and Alyssa.  "It's Missy!" haha  Napoleon Dynamite on the way home.  Getting creamed in Monopoly.  That was fun, guys!  We need to do that again!   And the other week I saw X-Men 3: The Last Stand with them.  That was fun too... it was an awesome movie.

Yesterday, Tony, Dev, and I watched the first two X-Men movies!  Luz and Emo came over for the second movie too.  It was weird seeing the first two after I saw the last one, but they were still awesome.  We were wishing we could be mutant and have powers like them... haha  Whew, we were crazy last night!  The Random Beam of Light.  Taking pics - some awesome and some just plain scary lol - outside with white, plastic chairs. haha  All our crazy poses... *Tony zooms in so we can see his shorts* hahahaha  Devin making out with plants, then doin' somethin' with his chair... and like a billion other stupid things that had us laughing for hours!  I probably forgot most of the funny parts... That was awesome tho... next we conquer Hershey Park!  Yessss!  I can't wait!

This weekend should be pretty cool as well.  Tomorrow I work, but Sunday will be packed!  Church in the morning, then to a missions trip meeting (Alicia and Janelle... they're finally having one! lol), then to Jessie's graduation party, then to Hope's grad party.  Whew!  I'm looking forward to it tho...

Then comes THE DAY.  Tuesday.  I get my license!!!!!!!! (*Emeril voice* Oh yeah, babe. )  I really need to practice parallel parking, though... ahh!!  I can't fail!  I won't fail.  There, that's better. lol

So.  Enough blabbing about moi.  What's the best thing that happened to you this week?

Avec l'amour, Scarlette

I'll leave you with......

Scary picture time!!!!

hahahahaha... Remember that, guys?!?!  Wow.  We all look so different!  We've all changed so much since then (changed as in a GOOD thing. hahaha)!

- I love this CD!!!

I'm baaacck!

Okay, so I never really went away, it just seems like it 'cuz I haven't been online in so long.  Long story short, I got grounded from the computer, and it wasn't even MY FAULT!  Grr..

Anyway, for the update.... Last week I pretty much just worked.  Oh, and the Hats Picnic!  That was fun, except I was so tired from getting up mad early a lot.  And I was reallllyyy wishing I would've been allowed to go on the choir tour.  Oh well, there's always next year!

This was an awesome weekend... and it was even 3 whole days long!  Yesss!  Sunday was church and our neighbors' annual Memorial Day (or more like the day before) picnic.  I ate a TON of food, played badminton and crochet... I mean croket?  (How is that spelled???  Whateva, you probably get the point. haha)  It was really hot... but little did I know how scorching it would get in the coming days... *evil laugh*

ANYwho, lol, Monday was the funnest (yup. funnest.) day of the past week!  In the morning, I went to the Salunga Flea Market or w/e it's called with Tony, Claire and Max, and Leah.  We pretty much stuffed ourselves on greasy-licious eggrolls (My first eggrolls ever!  They rock! ), and weird Snow cones... walked around, saw like 50 of Claire's relatives haha... saw other random people... and then I left. lol

Right after that, I went to my cousins' house for a picnic.  It was actually a lot of fun... except that I forgot sunscreen and got sunburnt pretty bad on my shoulders.  Oh well, it was still fun. lol  We jumped on the trampoline with the sprinkler beside it, played volleyball, badminton, soccer, football, random washer game...... and a lot of stuff. haha

Then today was back to reality = work.  It was SOOO hot in there today... I just wanted to rip off my ugly apron, run outside, and.. and... leave! haha  Now I'm soakin' up the coolness in the A/C.  Sweetness.

And how could I forget?!?!  My mom finally let me schedule my Driver's License Test!!!  It's in about 3 weeks.  I need to practice parallel parking a lot more, though.  Pray for me about that... I do NOT wanna fail. lol

Ow.  My shoulders hurt.  I love summer.  I'm hungry.  The end.

Au revoir, Ames

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing

So life's been really busy.  I don't think I've been home for a whole day in a while, and won't be for a while either.  Oh well... keeps life interesting.  Better than being bored all the time.

I really don't feel like typing everything I've done in the past week... so I'll just say some of the good/funny parts. lol

-Finding out that waking up at 5 am is sometimes easier than getting up at 7 am.  Who knew?

-One word: Sherri. hahahaha

-"Decant your pants!"

-"I've never had cashews in the shell before.  Do you take off the green part?"

-Poseidon

-I also found the coolest two verses ever.  (Actually, Alicia found them on the retreat, but I recently re-read that chapter and liked it all over again.  It's Psalms 42.. I'll put the verses at the end of my post)

-Finally getting a cell phone... and a camera phone at that!   Yea-yah!  If anyone wants my 7 digits, email me.  Pffshh, like I'd actually say that on xanga.

-My hott parallel parking job on the second try.  Now to just ace it during my license test...

-Finishing school.  Well, for the most part anyway.  Au revoir, junior year!

So that's pretty much all that went down this past week.  Lots of workin' and school combined with some crazy times with friends.  I'll leave ya with the 2 verses I mentioned above.

'Til next time, Ames

"Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.  By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me - a prayer to the God of my life." Psalms 42: 7-8
